At Isaiah 28:13 we read:

"And to them the word of Jehovah will certainly become command upon command, command upon command, measuring line upon measuring line, measuring line upon measuring line, here a little, there a little, in order that they may go and certainly stumble backwards and actually be broken and ensnared and caught."

The above bible text is a prediction of things, as they would occur to Israel, when separated from God's Holy Spirit and His Direction as a nation. A people stricken by God, because of transgression and sin. This verse explains what it would be like to try to serve Jehovah God, when there is no "spirit" to envigorate his people to become a people "zealous for fine works." -- Titus 2:14

In such a setting without Jehovah's Holy Spirit to direct his people, it would seem like their "service" and devotion to Jehovah would become, mere rules, upon rules, just commands upon commands. Just very burdensome, a drudgery and very laborious, with no refreshment or enjoyment when doing any of these duties. In short, the brothers are becoming more and more tired, and more tired-out, because of the constant stresses of the world around them in addition to all of the responsibility they carry, in their so-called service to God, where now it seems every thing is done out of duty and obligation, with no joy of holy spirit experienced by those who frequent the kingdom halls. This situation is so uncharacteristic of a people who truly follow Jesus Christ as their example, and are blessed with the spirit of joy in their service to God. -- Matthew 11:28-30; Hebrews 6:11, 12

So where the "joy" among these ones that carry God's name upon themselves. These are supposed to be a people where the "Joy of Jehovah" was to become their "stronghold!" -- Nehemiah 8:10

But this is not the case at all. What a deplorable condition to be in! And to be sure, just as this deplorable spiritual condition occurred for ancient Israel in the days of the prophet's Isaiah, we find the cold truth that these spiritual conditions now exist for Jehovah's Witnesses as a people, who have lost Jehovah's Holy Spirit, as a nation completely. Yes, their "lampstand has been removed from its place," where pure "oil" of God's Spirit could flow freely and serve as fuel to give "light" to a light-bearing "Lamp-like" organization. Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses now, have "left the love they had at first" -- thus they have fallen, spiritually in God's eyes. -- Please compare Zechariah 4th chapter with Jesus' comments at Revelation 2:4, 5.

As proof, please notice these comments taken from a current discussion on Jehovah's Witnesses as they consider the severe ramifications on insider comments recently given in the June 1, 2004 Watchtower magazine dealing with LOW MEETING ATTENDANCE at the kingdom halls among Jehovah's Witnesses and what this could possibly mean for God's Name People.
